Bibliographical training event

The London and Edinburgh Bibliographical Societies, in collaboration with the Rare Books in Scotland network, are pleased to advertise a morning of bibliographical training, to be held in Edinburgh University Library on Friday 26 April.

The event will run from 10:00-12:30 and will provide an introduction to topics such as the identification of bibliographical format, writing a collation formula and recognising important features of hand-press books.
It is open to anyone who needs these skills but is particularly aimed at:

  • Book dealers and collectors of antiquarian material
  • Scholars and students doing intensive work on hand-press books
  • Information professionals, such as archivists who may be expected to manage collections of early printed books

Refreshments will be provided although not lunch.

To apply, please send an email to secretary@bibsoc.org.uk stating your reasons for applying.
We have a maximum of 20 spaces available so early application is encouraged.
