ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

18 October 2005

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING at the Royal Astronomical Society, Burlington House, Piccadilly, W1. At the meeting the Society's Gold Medal will be presented to Dr. David McKitterick. Tours of the neighbouring Linnean Society library will take place after the conclusion of the meeting.

Three new Council members will be elected at the AGM.  Please submit nominations, together with a very brief (60-100 words) biography of the candidate to the Hon. Secretary in advance of the meeting.

Venues

All meetings will be held in the Gustave Tuck Lecture Theatre of University College, Gower Street, London WC1, beginning at 6.00 p.m., except the meeting on 17 January 2006, which will be held in the J.Z.Young Lecture Theatre, Anatomy Building, University College.

Tea will be served in the South Cloisters of University College (main building) at 5.15 p.m. Please note the following corrections: on 13 December, tea will be served in the Garden Room at 5.30pm, and on 16 May, it will be served at 5.15 p.m. in the North Cloisters of University College. Members are welcome to bring guests, both to meetings and to the tea beforehand.

The AGM will take place at the Royal Astronomical Society, Burlington House, Piccadilly, WC1 on 18 October 2005 at 5.30; this will not be preceded by tea, but refreshments will be served after the meeting.

PANIZZI LECTURES

The 2005 Panizzi lectures, entitled 'The Magic of Russia', will be given by Will Ryan. The lectures will take place on 2, 9, and 23 November 2005 at 6.15 p.m. in the Conference Centre of the British Library, 96 Euston Road, London NW1 2DB.
