At the end of March we will be travelling (virtually) to Tokyo to see some of the rare books and special collections of Keio University Library.  Our hosts will be Professor Satoko Tokunaga (the Society’s Hon. Secretary for Japan), Professor Takami Matsuda, Professor Takahiro Sasaki, and Professor Emeritus Toshiyuki Takamiya.  Following an introduction to the wide ranging collections at Keio we will be shown a variety of treasures from the Japanese (and Chinese) collections, as well as highlights from Keio’s remarkable collections of western medieval manuscripts and early printed books.

The virtual visit will be pre-recorded but our hosts will be present on the day for questions and discussion afterwards.
