The Stationers’ Company opens its new Archive facility

The official opening of the Stationers’ Company’s new archive room and reading room took place on 10th November 2017, and  represented a milestone in improving access to its unique and priceless archive, both for members of the Company and the general public.

Society's Library

The Society's library is now available for consultation by members at the Albert Sloman Library at the University of Essex.

Publication launch: David Selwyn, Edmund Geste and his books

The Society's latest publication was launched on Thursday 28 September 2017 with a reception at Salisbury Cathedral hosted by the acting Dean and the Cathedral Archivist.

All members of the Society will have received copies of the book.

The Society's library has recently been moved from the University of London to the University of Essex where the books will soon be available for consultation again. Please note that the move of the library means that members of the Society can no longer gain access to Senate House Library by producing a signed copy of the Society's programme card. 


The Society's Annual General Meeting will be held at The Royal Institution, 21 Albemarle Street, London W1S 4BS, at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, 17 October 2017.

Another book from John Dee's library

Elizabeth Quarmby Lawrence has reported a newly discovered item from John Dee's library: a copy of Hector Boece, Scotorum historiae a prima gentis origine, Paris, 1574, in Edinburgh University Library.
